10 Things I Hate About You

Best friends go a long way!

What is a feeling if not described by beautiful words filled with wrath and dismay. The common man searches for a moment of sanity among all the confused bickering faces of new love bidding in the hearts of girls and men. The sudden change to be a perfectionist model slowly leaving the owner’s head of a thousand possibilities. If “everything” is helpful then why the sudden surge of gargling your mouth filled with the sour and bitter taste of human flesh.

The first thing which comes to your mind after opening those eyelids while breathing in the environment you forgot in your dreams is what will make your world work. Either you can be the claustrophobic manic screaming to get out OR be the subtle relaxed individual who smiles even at a minimum gain situation.

The 2 star situations are not new. Staring at the sky has been there since Lion King and Lion King 2. Imagining the past and future in the most dramatic way to kill the sound of a clock ticking in the most beautiful/horrific manner.

Kovu in Lion King 2

Kovu in Lion King 2

I leave my sentences unfinished to create a bubble which only games of titanic will understand. If the criss-crossness of a simple second in my watch couldn’t stop a jungle king from reaching his “whats it called” destiny then I’m part of that grain of sand or a single drop of water from the skies has made my intense intelligent persona as a safety net. For the glance of red, you first need a bit of navigation to the rest-stop facing you on the never ending road of popularity among the hills and speed-breakers.

So they keep saying, to be or not to be. The ideal space which I would turn the world for is “personal space”. Let’s elaborate on this, shall we?

Kovu goes all serious

Kovu goes all serious

Living a life of 2 into 5 equals 14, I have ample respect for the sudden reactions I receive when I say *shotgun*. The attitude does not matter. The abilities matter to that level that I know you know what you are and do not need constant reassurance. If I look back, each individual in my life has taught me a system. To live, to breath and here is the tricky one, “appreciate”. The ads, the movies, the frickin billboards teach you something meaningless and important at the same time. It depends on how you relate to them. If you’re not spending each “second” with the thirst of making the next “second” better then you’re going in reverse. And let me tell you that’s not a good combo.

A girl slash blossom told me you’re a prisoner of the soul.

My reaction? No comments.

The Rotation Story

Creeptard.

The Rotation Story is an exercise we did in our Advanced English Composition class. We had to pass our notebooks in an orderly manner and everyone had to write a little bit in the story. Almost all of my classmates wrote in it. I edited it a bit. Check.

The leftovers are stuffed into the one tiny refrigerator, sauces dripping from hastily closed lid of plastic containers. Utensils have been placed mistakenly in the wrong drawers, the furniture which was moved around stays so and soon enough the whitest wall has smeared on it the enthusiasm of the happiest guest. The toilet, now clogged, needs attention. Soon enough, repairs begin; the brand new beginning not so new anymore needs to be stitched up and fixed.

The promises that were once made with such devotion were now being broken at a fast pace. Salar had been trying hard to make things work between him and his girlfriend of seven years. It was never enough to fulfill her expectations. Salar was a painter and Christina worked in a multinational company. Their relationship was hanging by a thread, a thread that could break any second and no matter how many knots Salar tried to make in that thread, to make it stand against the rough for just a little longer, the fate of the thread was inevitable. Christina believed that surviving seven years with Salar was a punishment. Everything he said or did was an accolade of mockery. His ego was unbreakable and Christina couldn’t handle that. She was an independent executive; loved being told what to do at work but in her private life, she liked to dominate. She wanted to tell Salar what she wants from life and the directions on how to achieve it. Salar was never a good listener. The same thing happened on the night of 21st March. Some friends were over for a movie. A conversation started casually grew into an intense one. Two of the friends who were in a relationship started to argue about a nominal issue which grew into something so big that somehow Christina and Salar got involved in the huge mess too. That day, Christina decided that such miscommunication is intolerable. She couldn’t find a way to make it work. Christina made up her mind to breakup with him. After gathering all of her courage, she told Salar that he needs to move out.

Grrr

Then Christina saw the monster he was. He tightly grabbed her wrist and threw her on the ground. How could she end everything this way. Salar was always patient with her, listened to all her impossible demands, tried to live a life she wanted for them. Wasn’t that enough for her. Salar was deeply hurt. Suddenly he felt rage rising inside him. The anger in his eyes was something she couldn’t look at. She couldn’t speak with fear. She wanted to run away from all the hope she had pinned onto Salar, all the time she wasted on creating a life out of what they had between them. She wiped her tears and decided to stand, stand for herself, her decisions and her beliefs. She kicked him on the knee which caught him off guard. It got her enough time to run away from him. She ran down the lane with her feet almost refusing to stop at any bump. She dashed across into the next lane without looking back. She was broken with disappointment. She felt exposed; she had let Salar inside the wall she had built for everyone. She felt as if she was falling in a bottomless pit. As far as her sight could take her, she saw a police mobile a hundred yards away so she ran towards it. Christina waved her hands to get their attention. The police car came towards her and stopped with a screech. She climbed in, feeling a lot safer.

The events of the day screamed nothing but madness but she was safe now. Looking around the police car she tried to catch one reassuring smile that would tell her it was all over but little did she know that the real danger had just begun.

Ranbir Kapoor, does he have what it takes?

The new ‘in’ thing in Bollywood these days is joining the 100 crore club. If you’ve got muscles like Salman Khan, can dance like Hrithik Roshan and act like SRK then clearly no one can stop you from entering that club.

Ranbir Kapoor in Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani

Ranbir Kapoor in Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani

Ranbir Kapoor, from the moment he stepped into the limelight, we won’t talk about his looks obviously because I can’t possibly describe heaven; Ranbir has managed to cross 100 crores at the box-office with his films as well as act with full throttle. From Saawariya to Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, he has managed to make his place in the world of Khans and Kumars. The acting talent he has shown on the big screen is inspiring, a new genre of heroes is born then and there. Ranbir has made the world realize that you don’t necessarily need an item number or show off the ‘biceps’ to get people to come and watch your movies. It depends merely on style, acting abilities and an exuberant personality.

Ranbir Kapoor in the much awaited Besharam

Ranbir Kapoor in the much awaited Besharam

Ranbir’s movie Besharam is releasing today on Oct 2nd, now if you have listened to the songs and watched their videos about 60 to 70 times like me you will see how much hard work he is putting in to them. The choreography mind you is difficult and he has managed to do it effortlessly. If you look at the dance steps closely, they require immense energy. His expressions are spot on leaving the person watching with intense admiration. Ranbir has adapted a very wise strategy the “in your face” plan. Let me explain: most actors do a film and if it’s a hit, take a backseat and enjoy the success but Ranbir? No, he is doing film after film, is on the screen and cashing in on his opportunities, not saying no to scripts which may be a risk and is doing quality work. He is taking a bold step, doesn’t want his fans to forget him for one second and talk about him constantly. He is in the making of becoming a superstar.

Although he persistently talks about keeping his personal life private, he has had his share of lovely and gorgeous ladies. He has broken Deepika’s heart. Obviously, he is the legendary descendent of the Kapoors, why would he ever marry a normal person? Deepika, please. Also, we can’t ignore the fact that she was too clingy and kept forgiving him for his “just friends” act with other girls. Kitty Kat is fine I suppose. Let me make this clear, I will never approve a girl who is with Ranbir so you must realize how much I have to make myself understand that Katrina Kaif is ‘fine’. Yeah yeah, they look lovely together but is she going to be there for the long haul or pull a Salman Khan on him?

Imran and Ranveer: competition? Nope!

Imran and Ranveer: competition? Nope!

Ranbir Kapoor had the “supposed” competition against him be it Imran Khan or Ranveer Singh but he has left them far behind, they’re not even in the race! Ranveer might be a little dangerous but he’s a bit blurry right now. Oh well, Ranbir is a heartthrob and whatever he does publicly on screen or personally we will love and admire him forever. I wish you best of luck for Besharam, Ranbir. Can’t wait!

Life does not have a happy ending..?

Story, really?

Story, really?

My story is about a girl and a boy, Hailey and Nimbko. Both of them had a significant relationship with each other for a period of time and then a mutual breakup. Hailey joins the workplace of her ex-boyfriend, Nimbko to start things up again. What she forgot to realize is that he had a huge ego and was ill-mannered since the beginning. Nimbko starts harassing her at work. He makes a group with a leader who is very rude and a kind of a thug. Hailey goes to her dad, explains that she wants the guy to be taught a lesson. Dad says okay. Meanwhile she asks her really cool friend to teach her how to do next level insults. Hailey was sick of being insulted more then enough times as Nimbko acts like she was just a toy to play with. There are a few group face offs where Hailey’s group and Nimbko’s group have a showdown. The leader is very stubborn and gets his way. Meanwhile Hailey then sees her dad’s plan getting in action. Her dad is rich, wise and does whatever his daughter asks her to do. One day Hailey is going to a wedding, the leader stops the car in the middle of the road and starts harassing with a knife. He threatens to kill all of Hailey’s loved ones. He tries to stab her sister. Hailey feels helpless and then finds herself stabbing the group leader. She stabs the leader right in the head. She never realized she had so much anger and hatred in her. She feels shocked. She cries. That’s what her dad’s plan was after all. Her dad wanted her to feel at peace for all her life and not live in any kind of pressure. He saw her getting dull and couldn’t watch her that way. Her dad was her savior after all. She isn’t able to forgive herself for taking a life.

The end.

This exact story came in my dream. When I woke up I found tears in my eyes. The “group leader” in my story I suppose is the famous AH we dislike. Gosh I can’t believe it has come to this.

Umru Ayar – The Awakening: What is it all about

Excited as ever to meet JC (Ramish Safa) and Sufi (Nofal Khan), the people who have raised the intensity of love for comics in Pakistanis, the makers of history, I knew I would be gruesomely awestruck in their presence. It wasn’t a surprise when I learned that the people at Kachee Goliyan (yes their team has grown) were launching the first of its kind comic book featuring Umru Ayar. The launch in Karachi took place at T2F where I could see people from all ages coming to witness how do the people with a creative mind look like, what are their ideas and perceptions, interacting with them to just get the feel of what their mindset is and learning from them.

Umru Ayar

Umru Ayar

The launch started off with Ramish, Nofal and their team introducing how Kachee Goliyan was born and how it has helped them grow intellectually. The launch went ahead where they explained how Umru was going to be the ‘desi’ superhero and how they want to change his image through their comics. Instead of having a cunning feel, he will be shown to be wiser in the upcoming comics. A question which was asked was will the stories in the comics be taken from the original or Umru Ayar will be having new adventures and experiences. Ramish responded by saying that it will be entirely new, the stories of Umru will be leaving an impact and will be different from the original.

Show others how strong you are!

Be strong as a lion!

Be strong as a lion

As the moments pass me by I have no option but to get stronger and learn from them. Yeah I have my life where I study and make amends with whatever is happening around me good or bad but the thing is it’s not really what I had imagined it would be. Recently I was going through a lawn magazine which had heavy work all over the lawn dresses. The type you wear in weddings and the models were working them. Just as I was about to get attached and beg my mum to buy me one my mom went like “These are so impractical. How can one wear such dresses which scream social suicide” oh okay I may have exaggerated it a bit but that’s what she meant I’m sure. So what I learned from this little incident was that that whatever perception you make about anything is largely influenced by outside factors. Influenced to a level where your own thought processes are altered. In a completely different world, there are some situations where you want someone to say what you want to hear. Example: when someone says to me you look so thin in black no seriously where are you can’t see you girl. and I blush and reply with awww.
