Is Nadia Khan Back For Good?

Posted by: kinzatahir on: April 19, 2012

Mornings are great to refresh your mind. A while back people, ladies specially, started their day with morning shows.

The morning show frenzy started all because of the famous Nadia Khan. She started the trend of having morning shows, calling up genuine and respected people, creating awareness keeping people informed about various things going on in Pakistan. Shaista Wahidi is in her league while Savera Nadeem, Maya Khan followed her, I’ll talk about them later. First focusing on Nadia jee, she has been in the show business for quite a long time and after her morning shows people genuinely started liking her. I heard comments like ‘your show is a vital change in our lives, really energizes us’. People used to admire her sense of style, the way she talked and I have to admit me too.

Pieces Of Time part 4

Posted by: kinzatahir on: March 29, 2012

She sipped her tea as she sat opposite Usman Mustafa in the cafe. As he talked about his life in the US, she nodded along realizing how he hadn’t changed at all, only caring about himself. Finally she understood that how her one-sided liking for him will never result in something special. She excused herself to go to the ladies’ room.

As she looked in the mirror, she had a slight smile on her face, the burden on her heart had been lifted. One meeting with Usman had made her recognize the fact that he could never be what she wants, he will never love her.

She said good bye to him, thanked him for the tea and left. She made it clear with her actions and words that they are friends but she needs her space.

She took a cab and looked at her watch. She still had time for office. She explained the address to the cab driver and sat peacefully.

When she entered, she saw a lot of panic.

Quotes: Kill Me Already

Posted by: kinzatahir on: March 18, 2012

Great minds think alike? What’s good in it if you STEAL ideas, now of course you can’t read someone’s thoughts but this quote is used only for the satisfaction of those who had a brilliant idea once and it had already been used in the past. Thus, the after the quote it follows “I had been up there if I wasn’t in this society/company/family”. First example, Time Machines. Ask a five year old and they would tell you it was THEIR original idea to build a contraption/thing that will take them in the future.
Now if you know what I mean let’s look at some of the ancient quotes which are seriously mind scratching lame and annoying leaving us thinking of all the possible perceptions it could have but leaves us in total discomfited situations.
“The most painful thing in life is losing yourself in the process of valuing someone too much & forgetting that you are special too”. The world special makes me think I’m a gifted child with super powers or probably have a brain with a large intellectual capacity. I read this quote 10 times to understand what it actually meant. I have a brain freeze seriously.

Review: Kachee Goliyan Comics on the right track

Posted by: kinzatahir on: March 12, 2012

When I first heard the words ‘Kachee Goliyan’, I knew it would be something out of the box, something big and I was right. Ramish and Nofal, the best friends, the mates, the coolest people ever had made the Kachee Goliyan Comics in Pakistan. First the craze was only on Facebook but this year they have launched their comic BOOKS, to be read online at kacheegoliyan.com as well as the actual copy which is available for free.

What I did was I read the third issue first which is the March issue titled ‘Of Superheroes and Rockstars’.  It starts with the main character Sufi and how he transforms. Actually he is a hero but he isn’t satisfied with himself and decides to quit his secret life. The last page leaves the readers in apprehension as it ends in continuation. I must say I was very impressed by the Cover Art. The drawings as always were striking.

I’m glad that the story of the March issue kept me in surprise wondering what will be the end.

As I read the older issues of January and Feburary I saw how greatly the KG team has improved. How beautifully they have emerged, creativity on its peak with their vision to be the most excellent. In Urdu I would call it ‘nikhaar aagaya’ in their work, in their thoughts.

Celebrating Women’s Day Positively?

Posted by: kinzatahir on: March 8, 2012

Women EmpowermentWomen? How can you ever express what they are and feel? Women are like delicate flowers where each one is beautiful in their own kind of way.  A woman has key roles in her life which comprises of being a daughter, a wife, a mother and more. Most women don’t say it but a lot of pressure is on them mentally and physically especially since they have so many responsibilities in their daily lives.

All over the world International Women’s Day is being celebrated today at March 8, 2012, empowering women all over, praising them and letting them know how much they mean to everyone.

There are many women who have been in this world who are true examples of independence such as Hazrat Fatima Al Zahra, Fatima Ali Jinnah, Mother Teresa, who were sincere, honest and kind.

There are other kinds of women as well who have totally misused and abused the names of women all over in Pakistan, one example is Waheeda Shah who was shown slapping and punching another woman on National TV, which was Veena Malikvery brutal of her. How can you not control your anger in public? It was mental torture to see the girl being abused by Waheeda Shah and the video was made to be amusing as well, showing the slap repeatedly, which wasn’t funny at all, it showed that the TV people were cowardly.

Another is Veena Malik who has disgraced the name of Pakistan worldwide. Appearing on the cover of magazines without clothes was very alarming and shocking for most. Then she came in an ‘I want to get married’ reality show which seemed very filmy and needy. She was also seen getting too close to men in another reality show which got her a lot of criticism.

Tu Desi Thumka La

Posted by: kinzatahir on: March 8, 2012

Osama Com Laude

When you pop your hip to the left and back while continuously doing that with the beats of the song, you my friend are doing the ‘Desi Thumka’. It’s very popular among all the Desis that is Pakistanis, Indians and others. The trend of dancing has been there since before the 18th century and it still continues. People dance especially on Pakistani weddings to upbeat and famous songs ranging from Punjabi style to pure English songs. Young girls and boys practice well before the wedding atleast 3 months before, but planning starts a year before.

Which songs will be ‘in’ during the wedding, the clothes, everything is planned.

Although there are other styles of dancing other then Punjabi style such as crumping, breakdancing, hip hop, I personally like Punjabi with all the thumkas with the ‘latkas’ and ‘jhatkas’.

A song ‘Desi Thumka’ has also emerged which is sung by Nouman Khalid feat. Osama Com Laude. Although both of the singers come in the category of ‘pretty’ boys and most girls will call them ‘cute’, well I’m one of those girls. Anyway when you listen to the song you expect the video to be full breaking the stage kind but the actual video is very classy and subtle. I personally thought the video was restrained. Overall the song is very addictive as well as very popular nowadays having more than 6 million views on YouTube.

Pieces Of Time part 3

Posted by: kinzatahir on: March 3, 2012

“Hi Tanisha! How have you been?”, he said in his husky voice.

“I have been good”, she managed to utter out.

“Can we talk?”

“I have office right now”, she said with a slight frown.

“Being your boss’s son, I already asked her and she said you can have your day off.”, he said shrugging his shoulders.

She nodded her head as they started walking. A hundred thoughts were coming in her head, they were not letting her settle. He had surprised her by suddenly appearing in front of her. Even Fariha hadn’t even mentioned in their conversations that her son was returning back from the US.

“I feel like I owe you an explanation.” He said sounding a little apologetic.

“For what?”, she pretended to be strong although she could feel her heart beat in her neck.

“I know I shouldn’t have left like that without informing.”, he said, carefully choosing his words.

“Yes you left but the good thing is you’re back, I don’t need any explanations. You did what you thought was best”, she said staring directly in his eyes.

“T, you have no idea what that means. I’m just glad. So are we going to Leesay Café now or what?” He said, reminding her their usual hangout place.

“Nah that is not going to happen, actually I do have other things to do and I have a lot of pending work at office”, she said a white lie to save herself from breaking down.
